My name is  Kathryn Laughin, SAG AFTRA CSA

I have been asked to comment on Carrie and her teaching...........

I taught Carrie for many years but I also kept on working as a Casting Director. Sometimes I had to cast and I needed a teacher THAT I COULD TRUST to take over class for me when Casting went over many hours and I needed someone to step in and teach for me.......Carrie was the ONLY ONE that I could trust with my students.  She did a terrific job and I could always count on her....And you can too.

Carrie is by all means a true, multi-faceted, generous talent. Her feedback on my work made it that much deeper and more logical. She will help you tap into the best of you, warmly and insightfully.

I met Carrie Dryzak when we worked together creating our characters and performing “Superstars” at Susan Batson’s theater in NYC, NY. Carrie is a extremely skilled and gifted  actress with a love, knowledge & passion for the craft.

Carrie cast me as her lifelong friend in her short film, ”Tulips” which she wrote and starred in.  Carrie has a deep understanding of the work it takes in finding the truth in all characters and the skill in helping you get there.

Carrie brings a high level of knowledge in the arts, craft and the business side of entertainment.  She was responsible for me getting my SAG.AFTRA eligibility by directing me in my first film Pharmacopia. As a director and instructor Carrie was instrumental in molding me to be successful in the business. Eternally grateful.

I met Carrie Drazek in NYC while she was working on her one woman show about Ann-Margret. I was blown away by her talent as a performer, her ease at storytelling and her infinite creativity. Carrie dives deep into any character’s truth. And her joy of acting is contagious. She also hired me as an actor for her short-film TuLips, which she wrote, produced and acted in. Since then I’ve been following her because she is so inspiring and has such wonderful energy. All the love and professionalism she pours into every project she is involved in, makes her someone you just want to be around. Plus she is so much fun to work with. I truly believe she makes a difference in every person’s life she comes across. And I just enjoy watching her talents unfold before my eyes. It’s a blessing to have met her.

I can without a doubt say that I can attest a lot of the challenges I have overcome and worked through were due to Carrie Drazek's guidance and direction in either a class setting or a private session. Her teachings are always rooted first in being in a relaxed being state before diving into the work. Regardless of where we are in our career or how many auditions we may have, she never forgets to remind her students of the importance of fine-tuning the instrument through exercises she facilitates. Once we get to the right being state, we dive right into the craft of the character. There has never been a moment where I have worked with Carrie where I have felt it was not to my full capacity because she pushes her students to the limit with challenging questions and actions that go beyond what one would assume of the character. She has not only assisted my journey in booking jobs but even there for phone calls after the job, to help me get OUT of that being state. I believe it is crucial for actors to work with someone who is compassionate, encouraging, understanding, all while pushing you to the limits and will have the patience and time to work with you. Carrie Drazek does all of this and more, and I am so grateful to have her in my corner.

I’ve known Carrie for many years. I was a veteran actor when we met at an actors workshop and I immediately knew she had a gift and a passion for acting. She overcame many challenges including an accident that presented physical challenges. I have had the pleasure of working with Carrie on stage and in film and have never known anyone with more talent or passion. When she directed me in the film, Benevolent Stranger, she helped me find a deeper connection to my character with a subtly I’d never experienced from a director before. She’s a awesome woman with a heart of gold and a passion for sharing knowledge and

wisdom.

I met Carrie Drazek several years ago in acting class.  In a class full of working actors, Carrie stood out immediately. Her superior skill as an actor is only surpassed by her care and compassion for others. She brings joy and life to any role she takes on. Her one woman play was one of the most brilliant things I’ve ever seen on stage. She inspired me to work even harder as an actor to learn this craft. She is also a great writer and director. Carrie is a gift to our industry.

I've had the pleasure of knowing and working with Carrie for several years at the Performers Studio Workshop. I had a front row seat to watch her portray the most intense and challenging characters nightly.  Of course I was excited to be asked to play a part in a film she wrote & directed. Her direction was easy and allowed room for the actor to bring the part to life. She is a generous person and beautiful inside and out. I look forward to seeing her work in the future.
